Program Overview
Arms for All accomplishes our mission through our programs which presently include: the Ambassador Program and the Donate a Hand Program. The Ambassador Program utilizes community based volunteers or ambassadors who actively recruit intern and apprentice candidates for STEM training. Training programs include: engineering, CAD design, product development, manufacturing clinics, project management, business & finance skills and mentoring. Upon completion, interns and apprentices are referred to business partners for potential future employment.
The Donate a Hand Program provides individuals free or reduced cost prosthetic limbs on an as needed basis. Donate a Hand makes use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing to dramatically reduce production costs for prosthetic limbs.
Arms for All currently operates two programs designed to empower individuals in need of prosthetic devices.
The Ambassador program provides both employment related STEM training and apprenticeship opportunities while fulfilling our mission to provide prosthetic devices to individuals in need at no cost.
Community based volunteers actively seek to recruit candidates interested in applying for internships and apprentice opportunities in a variety of skills roles. Successful applicants are offered the opportunity to receive training, mentoring and hands-on training experience with Arms For All. Typical internships and apprentice opportunities last three to six.
Training includes select courses or tracks in a variety of STEM fields including: Computer Aided Design, Project Management, Technical Writing & Publication, Prototyping, Plastic Mold Design, 3D Printing, Blueprint Reading, Assembly, Shipping & Logistics, Customer Service and Purchasing, Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable.
The Ambassador Program both addresses critical local labor shortages helping to generate interest and experience in STEM aligned and manufacturing careers, while practically addressing a development and manufacturing need for our organization.
