Meet The Team

Matthew Buerosse

Executive Partner - CORE Consulting, LLC
AFA Role: Product Development

Home grown in Pewaukee, WI – Matthew moved to Milwaukee to attend The University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee in 1996.  Upon Graduation in 2000, he worked for a few diversified financial services and banking organizations including: ADP, US Bank, and Velcor Leasing. Since his departure from Velcor in 2005, Matthew received his Master of Business Administration Degree from Cardinal Stritch University and has been actively involved in the executive management of companies in the Staffing & Product Development industries. In 2007 he Co-founded CORE Consulting, a Product Development & Industrial Talent Staffing firm located in Thiensville, WI and has been leading the company ever since.

Matthew has also been well known in the Milwaukee education community for his own philanthropic pursuits by serving on the Eastbrook Academy School Board, MSOE Student Placement Advisory Committee, The Cardinal Stritch COEL Advisory Council, The Marquette University Engineering Outreach Committee, and founding ARMS FOR ALL, a 501 C3 Non-Profit serving the Handy-capable and less fortunate.

Matthew’s leadership and expertise has proven to elevate the profitability, culture, cohesiveness, and vision for all of the entities that he has served. Matthew’s personality is best defined by patience, service to others, a calm demeanor, and a gregarious playfulness.  “Rolling up your sleeves to get the job done RIGHT”  is a great way to describe Matthew’s tireless commitment to his clients, colleagues, employees, friends, and family

Dr. Mary Spencer

RN, MSN, CPCC
AFA Role: Education/Training

Sr. Client Services Ambassador for CORE Consulting, retired director of career services and adjunct professor from Milwaukee School of Engineering after 25 years of employment. Mary holds a doctorates in education, Master of Science in Nursing and Administration, Bachelor Science in Nursing, and Diploma in Nursing. She is also a veteran of the U.S. Army Nurse Corp. Current certifications include, MBTI, Certified Professional Career Coach, and Registered Nurse. Her experience includes the training and education of groups and individuals at the civilian, military, university, and corporate levels.

Dr. Joseph J. Weber

MD, FACS
AFA Role: Medical/Surgical

Dr. Joseph Weber is a breast surgical oncologist with Advocate Aurora Health and facilitates multidisciplinary treatment of cancer care for men and women. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin and completed residency in general surgery at East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina. He holds a board certification in surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He furthered his training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York, by completing a specialized fellowship in breast surgical oncology. His research interests include the early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer as well as the utilization of oncoplastic procedures to improve cosmetic results following surgery. He is the medical director at the Breast Center of Excellence at Aurora Medical Center Grafton, serves on the Advocate Aurora research steering committee, and chairs the systemwide breast quality committee. 

Additional to his clinical and administrative roles, he enjoys teaching medical students and surgical residents and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Weber has a special interest in helping facilitate care for underserved individuals as well as working to provide functional and aesthetic prosthetic limbs for individuals in need.

Joe Uphaus

Engineer
AFA Role: Engineering/Design

Joe Uphaus is an Engineering Manager for Eaton Corporation, with over 10 years of experience partnering across functions to support a $350M business with new product development, project portfolio management, codes and standards, testing, drafting, and prototyping services.  During his career, he has led over 10 product launches with total mature year annual project revenues exceeding $30M and is a certified Black Belt in Design for Six Sigma.  He holds a B.S. Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University and is currently finishing his MBA from the University of Wisconsin’s MBA Consortium.

Joe has a passion for solving complex problems and connecting customer needs to real product solutions.  When he learned about Arms For All, he saw an opportunity to align this passion in product development toward an unmet desire in his life to do more to help those in need.  Along with the other team members supporting Arms For All, Joe hopes to deliver an ever improving design that improves the quality of life for as many in need as possible.

Zachary Smith

Physical Therapist
AFA Role: Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Zachary Smith is a relatively new therapist, just completing his first full year of practice in an orthopedic residency program. Zach has had experience working with amputees through the Madison and Milwaukee VA hospitals.  He is very interested in expanding that knowledge/experience through Arms For All.

Sury Shoney

CEO & Chemical Engineer
AFA Role: Engineering Partner

Sury is the CEO of Shoney Scientific Inc. a company located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and providing turnkey offshore developing and manufacturing services for products made from Plastics, Rubbers, Metals, and Fabrics. He is a successful chemical engineer and entrepreneur with a deep-rooted belief in building long-term relationships through absolute transparency in every action. The company has been in business for 35 years and has grown by word of mouth and unsurpassed customer service in responsiveness, quality, economies, and providing a competitive edge through innovation in the design and manufacturing of the products. He is a visionary and a believer in fulfilling social responsibilities through donations and actively participating in a variety of society benefitting projects.
